This year Stonewall is taking its Youth Pride Event to the city of Birmingham for the very first time!
This year marks the 21st Birmingham Pride and we’re really excited to be a part of the celebrations.
Our Youth Pride Events offer young people aged 16 to 21 the opportunity to come together and enjoy Pride in a safe and fun way.
Prides are an important way of celebrating how far the LGBT community has come while also acknowledging the work that still needs to be done, both in the UK and around the world.
Thousands of people from local LGBT groups and organisations march in the Birmingham Pride parade each year and this year we’ll be joining them! Prides not only give the LGBT community from the local area the chance to be visible and proud, they also provide an opportunity for allies to come together to show their support.
Personally, this year will be my 9th Birmingham Pride and each year I’m blown away by the enthusiasm and energy that I see from the marchers and the thousands of people who turn out to wave their flags and show their support from the side-lines.
It's an incredible experience to be a part of!
It’s an incredible experience to be a part of and we’re proud to be supporting Birmingham Pride’s theme this year which is Love and Pride.
We’re looking for 50 young people to join us on Saturday 27 May 2017 in central Birmingham. You don’t have to be LGBT to attend and we will cover your travels costs, provide you with some lunch and even give you a free iconic Stonewall T-shirt!
Sound good? The application process to join us in the Birmingham Pride parade in May is now open so what are you waiting for?
We can’t guarantee that everyone who applies will be offered a space so it’s important that you get your application in early!
If you don’t live near Birmingham or can’t make this event but would still like to join us at a Youth Pride Event do not worry!
