Youth pride events

This year Stonewall is hosting six Youth Pride events which are open to anyone aged between 16 and 21. Our confirmed events so far are:

  • Birmingham Pride (26 May)
  • UK Black Pride (8 July)
  • Bristol Pride (14 July)
  • Trans Pride Brighton (21 July)
  • Cardiff Pride (25 August)
  • Manchester Pride (25 August)

What is Youth Pride?

Our Youth Pride events are a chance for participants to meet other young people and Stonewall staff, as well as march in some amazing pride parades!

In 2018 Stonewall will take up to 300 young people to some of the UK's biggest celebrations of LGBTQ+ communities, culture and activism!

How much does it cost?

  • Attending a Stonewall Youth Pride event is free
  • We cover all travel costs and provide food and refreshments

What happens at the Youth Pride events?

We meet at a location close to the parade route, welcome everyone, hand out free Stonewall t-shirts and lunch before marching together in the parade with hundreds of other community groups and organisations. Remember, Stonewall covers your travel costs and provides free lunch.

Please note that at UK Black Pride there is no parade march but there is an afternoon of festival activity in Vauxhall Pleasrue Gardens, South London.

Can I attend with my friends?

Of course! However, your friends must also be aged 16 - 21 and they will need to submit their own application. Please note, we cannot guarantee that everyone who applies will be offered a space.

What if I want to come on my own and won't know anyone else there?

Absolutely no problem. Many people come to these events on their own and it’s a great chance to meet new people! We'll introduce you to each other and Stonewall staff will be there to chat at the event and during the Pride parade.

How do I get there?

If your application is successful, we'll email you all the details about the event, including the meeting time and place. We'll book your train tickets in advance or you can book your own and claim your money back after the event.

How old do you have to be to apply for a space?

These events are open to people who are aged 16 - 21 on the day of the event. If you're under 18 we will require a signed consent form from your parent or legal guardian.

How can I apply for a space at an event?

The registration process for our youth pride events are now closed. If you have applied for a space at our Manchester event you will hear from us very soon.

Follow @stonewallUK on Twitter. If you're over 21 you can still join Stonewall at a Pride close to you this summer. Visit our main website for more details.
